Goals: Here are the big ideas students will learn about in this lesson:
- A primary source is something that was created within the period being studied. Primary sources can include letters, documents, video recordings, and artifacts.
- Analyzing primary sources can teach us about a time period or a historical figure.
- By analyzing a personal letter, a television commercial, and an artifact, students will learn more about President Gerald R. Ford and the era in which he lived and served as a leader.
Strategies: Students will be using many reading and writing strategies to complete this lesson. The key strategies that students will focus on are:
