The Mission Laique Francaise (www.mlfmonde.org) is a charitable French nonprofit organization created in 1907 that provides educational and management services to more than 120 independent, non-religious schools worldwide. All schools follow an adapted French Ministry of National Education curriculum with programs leading to the French Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate degrees. There are currently 24 MLF member schools in the United States. MLF America will: -Help with the recruitment and hiring of qualified, experienced teachers -Organize training sessions and workshops for teachers -Research and promote best practices in the fields of international, multilingual, and multicultural education -Improve teaching methods in service of international schools with strong language programs -Work with national and regional American independent schools accrediting agencies to promote the role of foreign languages in school curricula, especially in the context of international education -Assist schools in evaluating their educational practices -Help schools who are seeking accreditation with the French Ministry of National Education or authorization by the International Baccalaureate Organization -Train newly-hired teachers to better adapt to the French American educational and social environment -Provide small grants for innovative pedagogical projects in our member schools
