Analyze and annotate select features of Earth in photographs taken from space by NASA astronauts with this WGBH resource. Features, including rivers and mountains, appear differently based on the scale in which they are viewed. This resource gives students the opportunity to analyze four images of Earth from a less familiar perspective so they can identify and label landforms and water features.
Support materials include: Background Reading, Teaching Tips, and Discussion Questions. This resource was developed through WGBH’s Bringing the Universe to America’s Classrooms project, in collaboration with NASA.
