The Story Seeds Podcast is a new kids and family podcast that reveals the creative and writing process, models the value of deep listening and collaboration between children and adults, and shares great, diverse stories that inspire kids to write, imagine, and be curious about their world. Each episode matches an author with a child between the age of 6-13 and their story idea. The author meets with the child to help them grow the story idea, then goes home to write an original story inspired by their conversation. Bonus episodes feature author interview and our host is uber-librarian Betsy Bird. Participating authors on Season One include Aram Kim, Tracey Baptiste, Dan Gutman, Veera Hiranandani, Chris Grabenstein, Carlos Hernandez, Rajani LaRocca, Bil Lepp, and Susan Muaddi Darraj, and Jason Reynolds, the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature.
