One Community offers curricula in all areas of language arts, including listening and speaking.
Core curriculum are the subjects and areas of study that are central to the lesson plan design of the Education for Life program. To identify these subjects we adopted the California Department of Education guidelines (because they are some of the most comprehensive and strict in the nation), added in the national SAT/ACT expectations for grade 7 and beyond, referenced the US Common Core State Standards Documents, and then double checked our curriculum and goals against the best selling and #1 teacher recommended Spectrum Test Prep workbook series. The goal of the core curriculum is to provide maximum opportunity and the most thorough and comprehensive educational foundation possible for anyone participating in the Education for Life program.
For those interested in using this as part of a traditional higher-education path, additional goals using this educational foundation are:
- Exceptional scores on the SAT/ACTs
- Receiving scholarships, pre-college credit, and/or advanced college placement
- Development of skill sets that make students recruitable and desirable in the job market
